The Work Ethic of Americans and Europeans For Europeans, American peoples are used to ignoring chances to release themselves, but they will never forget to plan everything in detail. There is one fact proving that American executives are even addicted to their arduous toil, and they do not mind ruining their own families and health. Besides, it always seems fine for Americans not to have much time for recreation. For instance, some French and German executives think that Americans are like working machines because they usually lead a hectic life. By contrast, extra works on holidays can hardly be tolerated for most Europeans, since they put stronger emphasis on saving more hours to enrich their own lives than Americans do (Hall and Hall 145).
